Vertical CNC

Tormach developed the PCNC 770 as an alternative to the expensive underpowered benchtop CNC mills typically encountered in R&D, Prototyping. Product Design, Education, Hobby CNC and other non-traditional machine shop environments. Tormach's concept was to create a benchtop mill with power and rigidity to do real work, while still retaining all the important features that make a CNC benchtop milling machine attractive in the first place: small size, portability, and minimal input power.

The PCNC 770 isn't your ordinary benchtop CNC. Instead of extruded aluminum, it's built with a stout cast- iron frame. Each PCNC 770 benchtop CNC mill employs over 650 lbs of cast iron and steel, precisely placed to provide maximum frame rigidity in a size that's not much bigger than a traditional benchtop CNC. This makes the PCNC 770 a perfect choice as a benchtop milling machine.

The capacity of the machine along with its small footprint allows us to machine a number of cases and metal assemblies without outsourcing the design. It has gone a long way to compliment our overall capability as a one stop shop for low volume.

CNC Lathe

The Tormach 15L Slant-PRO is intended for use as a general purpose CNC lathe. Like the Tormach line of PCNC mills, the 15L Slant-PRO can be accessorized with a wide array of tool changing and work holding options, including gang, quick change, or fully-automatic tool changing, pneumatically-actuated chucks or collet closers, bar pullers, etc. The available spindle speed range and horsepower make it well-suited to cutting most metals, as well as plastics and non-abrasive composites. While intended to be useful in production environments, the conversational programming screens make this lathe a versatile prototyping tool. In fact, many part geometries can be programmed on the control without CAD/CAM.

The lathe allows us to rapidly create metal parts to complimentout overall production capabilites and to eliminate outsourcing of the metalwork. The lathe keeps the bottom line in check and allows us to keep the machining costs low and maintain production in house.

Metal Forming

Metal forming is accomplished with a variety of metal bending and shearing tools in house. We can take your files and produce a complete enclosure or we can design a great looking case using our in house CAD system. Either way, we can produce a case that will showcase your product.

Welding

Welding is an important addition to the mechanical services that we offer. A number of welding techniques can be used for fabrication of metal enclosures and larger control boxes. Mig, Tig, Stick, Plasma and Electron Beam depending on the type of enclosure or metal.

 Metal Coating

We offer a service utilizing an epoxy based metal coating. Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. Its unique formulation enhances abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is tested to guarantee that Cerakote remains at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. The coating process is used extensively in both the auto and firearms industry and comes in a number of colors.
